Palace of India - Grand Rapids, MI

A New Indian Restaurant called "Palace of India" has opened up in Grand Rapids, MI. Owner Sunny Singh, who has been active in Democratic politics for a decade, said he knew there would be an audience in Grand Rapids for another Indian restaurant so he decided to open "Palace of India".

The scent of curry and fresh naan have been drawing crowds to a humble new "Palace" on East Fulton Street

On its first full day of business, Singh said 650 people showed up at the Palace of India, a restaurant that features homemade Indian goat, lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetarian foods.

Owner Sunny Singh opened his new eatery at 961 E. Fulton St. two weeks ago with a ribbon cutting attended by Mayor George Heartwell, state Rep. Mike Sak and other politicians Singh considers friends.

Since then, the restaurant has attracted lines of people drawn by the bright red tandoori chicken and goat kadai.

The restaurant offers a lunch buffet with a rotating selection of dishes for $8.95. Entrees run from $10 to $16 and are available for takeout. The restaurant also offers catering.

Palace of India is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. It closes 3 to 5 p.m. daily.
Congratulations Mr. Singh!
